With our experts and your commitment, athletes at our Bundoora & Ringwood facilities will excel in sports performance.

Every athlete wants to know the best training program.
The best gym.
The best exercises.
The best recovery tools.
But there's one area that consistently separates good athletes from great ones—and it's often overlooked.
Nutrition.
The food you eat doesn't just fuel today's training session. It influences how well you recover, how effectively you adapt to training, how quickly you return from injury and ultimately how long you stay healthy throughout your sporting career.
At Pivot Sports Performance, we're excited to welcome Ella from Loaded Performance to deliver an education session for athletes, parents and coaches, helping them better understand how nutrition supports both performance and rehabilitation.
Because high performance isn't built by one practitioner.
It's built by an integrated team.
Strength training, sprinting, conditioning and skill work place stress on the body.
That stress is what drives improvement—but only if your body has the resources to repair and adapt afterwards.
Without adequate nutrition, athletes commonly experience:
Slower recovery between sessions
Reduced strength and power gains
Increased fatigue
Poor concentration
Increased illness
Higher injury risk
Delayed healing following injury
The goal isn't simply eating "healthy."
The goal is giving your body exactly what it needs to perform at its best.
At Pivot, every athlete undertaking our High Performance Training program works within a system that values training, recovery and education equally. Learn more about our Athlete Performance Program here:
One of the biggest misconceptions we see is athletes believing they should eat less because they're injured.
In reality, the opposite is often true.
Even though training volume may decrease, the body is working incredibly hard behind the scenes to repair damaged tissue.
Whether you're recovering from an ACL reconstruction, hamstring strain, ankle sprain, shoulder injury, stress fracture or concussion, your nutritional needs often increase.
Protein requirements rise.
Micronutrients become increasingly important.
Energy intake needs to support healing rather than restrict it.
Poor nutrition during rehabilitation can delay tissue healing, reduce muscle retention and ultimately prolong your return to sport.
Our Sports Physiotherapy team works closely with athletes throughout every stage of rehabilitation to ensure loading, strength and recovery strategies are progressing together.
Elite performance isn't simply about eating enough.
It's about eating the right nutrients at the right times.
Sports nutrition considers:
Supports muscle repair, tendon healing and muscle growth.
Provide fuel for training, recovery and maintaining high training quality.
Support hormone production, inflammation regulation and overall health.
Even mild dehydration can negatively affect reaction time, concentration and physical performance.
Iron, calcium, vitamin D and other micronutrients play significant roles in energy production, bone health and tissue repair.
The nutritional priorities of an athlete change throughout rehabilitation.
The focus is on:
Supporting tissue healing
Maintaining muscle mass
Managing inflammation appropriately
Optimising energy intake
As strength work increases, nutrition helps support:
Muscle rebuilding
Tendon adaptation
Progressive loading
Increased training capacity
As athletes begin running, sprinting and changing direction again, nutrition shifts toward:
Maximising training quality
Recovery between sessions
Reducing fatigue
Preparing for competition
Nutrition evolves alongside rehabilitation—not separately from it.
One of the biggest differences between community sport and elite sport is collaboration.
Elite athletes don't work with isolated practitioners.
Their physiotherapist communicates with their strength coach.
Their strength coach collaborates with the sports dietitian.
Performance testing guides training decisions.
Everyone works towards the same outcome.
That's exactly how we approach athlete development at Pivot Sports Performance.
Our integrated model combines:
Sports Physiotherapy
Strength and Conditioning
Performance Testing
Return to Run and Return to Sport Progressions
Concussion Management
Nutrition Education
Communication with coaches, parents and sporting clubs
When every member of the team understands the athlete's current stage of training or rehabilitation, better decisions can be made every day.
Instead of isolated treatment sessions, athletes receive one coordinated plan.

If you're recovering from a concussion, nutrition is also essential. Our dedicated Concussion Clinic provides evidence-based assessment, rehabilitation and return-to-play management.

Many young athletes spend ten or more hours each week training.
Very few spend even thirty minutes learning how to fuel that training.
That's why education sessions with experienced sports dietitians are so valuable.
Athletes leave with practical strategies they can implement immediately, including:
What to eat before training
Recovery meals after games
Protein requirements
Hydration strategies
Competition day nutrition
Nutrition during injury rehabilitation
Common mistakes to avoid
Small improvements in daily habits often produce significant improvements over an entire season.
We're excited to welcome Ella from Loaded Performance to Pivot Sports Performance for an engaging seminar designed for athletes, parents and coaches.

The strongest athletes aren't simply the ones who train the hardest.
They're the ones who recover the best.
They fuel consistently.
They communicate with their support team.
And they understand that success comes from many small decisions repeated over time.
Training matters.
Rehabilitation matters.
Nutrition matters.
When those three work together, athletes give themselves the best opportunity to perform at their highest level.
At Pivot Sports Performance, that's exactly what we strive to deliver.
An integrated high-performance team that helps athletes become stronger, faster, healthier and more resilient.
