High Performance Training Throughout Your Entire Season.

Strength progressions
At Pivot, we believe in targeting hamstring strength early on in rehab. After 48 hours, we will commence isometric strength training and gradually progress you through the continuum toward eccentric and power based hamstring training.

Running drills
The most common cause of hamstring strains is sprinting, so assessing and addressing issues with sprinting, accelerating and changing direction is crucial.

Plyometric and Rate of Force Development
Your hamstring are strong. Really, really strong. Thus they require exposure to high levels of force and high level plyometrics before you return to sprinting and playing sport.

Return to play testing
We have a thorough return to sport testing program that will provide you with confidence that you have regained the strength and power in your ankle prior to returning to playing.

Contact us by phone, email, or via the contact form.
If via email, please provide any imaging or reports that you have so we can provide you with clear advice.

We will discuss where you are at in your rehab over the phone prior to attending your first appointment

Assessment of your hamstring to determine your injury and your rehab plan.
We may refer you to additional scans or a surgical opinion at this point.

Recovery time depends on the severity of the strain and your sport’s physical demands.
Grade I strains may resolve in 1–2 weeks.
Grade II injuries typically require 3–6 weeks.
Grade III tears, which may involve complete rupture, often take 8–12+ weeks and require longer-term rehab.
At Pivot Bundoora, we assess your injury, test your strength and sprint mechanics, and tailor your recovery plan to ensure a safe and confident return to sport.

Yes — in most cases, modified training can continue under supervision. At Pivot Bundoora, we prioritise load management and maintain strength in other muscle groups while progressively loading the injured hamstring.
Avoiding training completely can lead to deconditioning and slower recovery.

Absolutely. Before we clear you for sport, we test:
Sprint mechanics and top-end velocity
Hamstring strength (including eccentric control)
Hop and bounding metrics
This ensures you don’t just feel better — you're actually ready to perform safely.

At the end of your initial treatment, your action plan will be discussed and a expected recovery time will be established. If you have not recovered in that time, lived up to the expectations and there have been no unforeseen events, we will continue to rehabilitate your injury without additional charge!
